View from my balcony

Here was the view from my hotel room balcony on the morning of the Lake Placid Half Marathon last month. I think the scenery really did distract me from the difficulty of the course; I missed my personal goal by 1 minute, 11 seconds, but still set a personal record, so I guess I shouldn’t complain. I’m training still/again for the NYC Half Marathon next month, which will be interesting. Easier course, worse scenery and weather, utterly panic-inducing crowds (probably more than 12,000 runners, as opposed to about 2,000 at Lake Placid). Can I shave that 1:11 plus a little more off my time under such conditions?
