Saving a Squirrel by Eating One

Excuse me? Yes, it seems that the battle of red squirrels (the Beatrix Potter Squirrel Nutkin kind) against the grays in England has reached the point that the Brits, who turned up their noses at squirrel meat in the lean food-rationing days of World War II, are now ready to make pies out of the gray squirrels in order to save the tufy-eared reds. I’m late for work, so here’s the link to the story and the adorable squirrel portraiture that accompanies it. Have any of you out there eaten squirrel?
