Our hectic two-week search is over. In my time in New York, I have lived in Bushwick and Flatbush, but now my days of such unlovely neighborhoods are over. Will and I have just landed a nice two-bedroom apartment in the the heart of the graceful historic Ditmas Park neighborhood, which may be familiar to some of you as the film location of Sophie’s Choice (in even earlier film lore, Ditmas Park was also home to Mary Pickford). It’s a relatively unknown area even to locals, which has kept it cheap and quiet. More to come; time to pack.
